Sodium sulfide chemical formula Na2S.
Sodium sulfide is used in the pulp and paper industry, water treatment, textile industry, and various chemical manufacturing processes including the production of rubber chemicals, sulfur dyes and oil recovery.
Recommended Industrial & Shipboard Areas
Storage : Store in a dry and dark location, avoid exposure to direct sun light. Max. storage temperature 40°C.
Packaging and transport : Sodium Sulfide 60% Flakes is delivered in: PE-Bags 25 kg net.
Safety and handling:
Sodium Sulfide 60% Flakes is classified as a dangerous product. It is corrosive to metals and contact with the skin and eyes can cause burns. It is toxic if swallowed and is very toxic to aquatic life. Contact with acids must be avoided. In contact with acids, the toxic gas Hydrogen Sulfide (H₂S) can be released. Sodium sulfide is the chemical compound with the formula Na2S and it has an antfluorite structure. It’s a yellow appearance, water-soluble salts that give strongly alkaline solutions. When exposed to moist air, Na2S emit hydrogen sulfide, which smells like rotten eggs.
