Dosage & Directions for Use

In general PRACTICE :

Antiscalant 4101 should be dosed continuously to the feed water upstream of the cartridge filters. Typical dosage rates are 2 – 4 mg/L.*
Antiscalant 9209 RX can be diluted and is fully miscible with water in all proportions.

*The correct dosage rate is dependant upon several parameters, including feed temperature, pH, and chemical analysis and will be specified by your consultant after a detailed survey of your plant. To obtain the best results, Antiscalant 4101 RO should be added continuously using a suitable metering pump. Dosage depends on LSI/CSI, sulfate saturation, temperature, recovery, and feed ion profile.

Working Mechanism of ANTISCALANT 4101:

Threshold inhibition: Prevents crystal growth at sub-stoichiometric dosage

Crystal modification: Distorts scale crystal structure → softer, non-adherent deposits

Dispersion: Helps keep fine precipitates suspended so they pass through instead of depositing on membranes

Product Description & Chemical Profile

Antiscalant RO 4101 is specially designed to control the development of scale in seawater distillation plants. It is based on a synergistic blend of phosphonates which are found to be more effective than other polymers at controlling carbonate and sulphate scale formation in sea water distillation units .

This product is a high-performance phosphonate antiscalant developed for Reverse Osmosis (RO), Nano Filtration (NF), and desalination pre-treatment systems. It is formulated which acts as a threshold inhibitor, crystal modifier, and dispersant to reduce membrane scaling and maintain stable permeate flow.

It helps control common inorganic scale such as:

Calcium carbonate (CaCO₃)
Calcium sulfate (CaSO₄)
Barium sulfate (BaSO₄)*
Strontium sulfate (SrSO₄)*
Metal hydroxides / metal oxide fouling*
Silica control: only partial*

* For heavy scale of Iron, Silica and other salts, ScaleFree NP RXSOL-33-2034-050 acts the best as it is a proprietory high polymeric formulation dispersant and antiscalant.
